As a Community Engagement Officer, you work within the Community Engagement team to engage the wider community to recruit volunteers for TLG programs. This will include maintaining relationships with and supporting the current TLGxUni Clubs Committees at UWA, Notre Dame, ECU, Murdoch and Curtin, reaching out to TAFEs, higher education institutions and other relevant community organisations, and building and maintaining relationships with metropolitan high schools in Perth.
Your focus will be raising awareness of TLG and the education gap in addition to encouraging community members to apply for volunteer opportunities. You will develop your public speaking skills and written communication skills, as a large aspect of this role will include communicating with external stakeholders. A good candidate for this role will have time management skills, show initiative, have good verbal and written communication skills and be energetic and enthusiastic about TLG.

Team Meeting - 1 hour

The time commitment for this role should be relatively consistent across the semester, however may vary based on school availability. -
An Education Officer's main responsibility is to collaborate with their fellow Education Officers and the Education Manager in order to prepare and implement the Education program and Education Training for TLG Volunteers. They will work alongside their team to develop improved and innovative means of presenting training as well as contribute their knowledge about education and the curriculum.
Duties:
Assist in the preparation and presentation of TLG training to TLG Volunteers at Coordinator Training Days, General Training Days and Interactive Training Days.
Provide innovative and creative ideas about ways to further enhance our Sprouts and Saplings Programs.
Assist in the development of Educational resources, worksheets and lesson plans.
Desired Qualities
Experience in an educational setting (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, teaching practicum, etc.)
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with local schools, team members and tutors.

Initiative to continually progress the ideas and practices of the Education Team.
Time Commitment
This position requires a time commitment of approximately 4/5 hours in a regular week, with the breakdown as follows:
Meeting - 1.5 hours
Tasks - approximately 3/4 hours each week
Please note the time commitment will increase during the period of June and October when the education team conducts Interactive Training Days (ITD) at local primary schools for approximately 3 hours per session.
Note: The ITD schedules can be negotiated but it is expected for education officers to attend at least 2 sessions each semester.

The Finance team has two main responsibilities:
Manage TLG's merchandise store: This involves developing new merch ideas, ordering and maintaining merch stocks, and organising the online store. Additionally, this involves all TLG resources required for RP including First Aid Kits and educational materials.Accurate representation of TLG's financial position: Involves recording and reconciling all transactions throughout the year by updating Xero. This also involves ensuring all teams have a budget and that TLG funds are spent appropriately.
The Finance Systems Officers work in tandem to provide essential support to the Finance Manager, CFO and external Accountant. Primarily utilising systems including Xero, Stripe, PayPal and Google Sheets to record TLG’s finances on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, these roles share responsibility for the TLG Tutoring Centre’s payroll and invoicing. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain industry experience.

Tasks - approximately 4 hoursAdditional hours will be required around Tutor Training Days to assist in organising Rural Program supplies and in-person selling for the Merchandise Store

The role of the logistics team is to oversee:
All school liaison and communication
Input of logistical factors into program budgets
Sourcing and booking transport for the Rural Program
Booking training day venues, scheduling sessions, liaising with other Executive teams that are presenting
Presenting content at and managing training days
Allocations of tutors to schools and reallocations if needed
Responding to tutor queries / concerns in the lead up to RP
Initial school contact with eMentor schools, until coordinator handover occurs
As a Training & Allocations Officer on the Logistics Team you will work in a pair within the Logistics team to plan and facilitate Tutor Training Days (TTDs) and oversee tutor allocations for the Rural Program. You will have the opportunity to directly contribute to how TTDs are run and facilitated and innovate better ways to deliver training. You will also be responsible for appropriately allocating tutors to schools and managing reallocations that arise, as well as dealing with tutor queries. In this role, you will gain a wide range of experience in organisation skills and public speaking as well as the opportunity to apply and develop problem solving skills in a variety of circumstances.
As a Schools & Transport Officer you will work within the Logistics team to undertake logistical planning for the Rural Program. You will have the opportunity to directly liaise with the schools we are going to and organise the transport we are providing, hence contributing to Teach Learn Grow’s mission by being on the front line to key stakeholders - our partner schools and our transport providers. In this role, you will gain a wide range of experience in professional communication and relationship management as well as having an opportunity to apply your organisational and problem-solving abilities. You will be the main point of contact for our partner schools.

As part of the Marketing team, a Marketing Officer will be responsible for creating content and building the social media presence of Teach Learn Grow (TLG) across our social media pages. This primarily involves executing the posts planned in our Social Media Calendar by designing graphics and posting content through our social media scheduling platform.
A Marketing Officer will also be responsible for creating written media material on behalf of Teach Learn Grow (TLG). This involves writing and publishing our blog (The Leaflet), quarterly e-newsletter (The Vine) and any additional media releases for external publishers. You will have the opportunity to develop your design and writing skills, come up with new ways to increase our engagement for key marketing campaigns such as program recruitments and TLG events, and reach out to media organisations across the state(s), in all different formats (e.g. print, digital, radio), in order to increase public awareness of TLG and our mission.
In addition, the marketing team contributes to planning and overseeing
events such as the Ball and Cocktail Night.

The Program Support team is a collaborative and multifaceted group with a direct role in shaping the coordinator experience. As a Program Support Officer you will work within the PS Team to recruit, train and support the coordinators for the Rural Program. You will have influence in shaping how each RP will be run through the selection and training of coordinators. This is a highly interpersonal role as you will be the coordinators’ first point of contact and support system throughout their Rural Program experience. A strong passion for Teach Learn Grow’s mission and vision is a necessity as you will help to transfer this to our future coordinators.

Note that During busy weeks of the semester, the time commitment may increase to approximately 10 hours per week. This includes during the coordinator recruitment process, the weeks of our training days and the week of the Rural Program. As a Recruitment Officer you will work within the Recruitment team to conduct recruitment of volunteers for each of our programs and for the Executive team. You will have the opportunity to shape each cohort of volunteers and directly contribute to Teach Learn Grow’s operations by designing the application and interview process, reviewing online applications, conducting interviews and training sessions, and playing a key role in the final selection of our candidates. As a Recruitment Officer, you will develop the ability to effectively meet these responsibilities, as well as develop stronger critical thinking, communication, and time management skills. You will be the first point of contact for our applicants, so we are looking for candidates with a strong passion for Teach Learn Grow’s mission and vision!

A Systems Support Officer will use communication and problem solving abilities to work collaboratively in developing, improving and maintaining the technology infrastructure for the whole of TLG. The systems team supports the technical requirements of all teams and portfolios across the organisation. The systems team manages the development and sourcing of the best software for TLG's needs.
Expectations
Maintain and develop the current predominantly Google Sheet systems through sheet formulas, google apps script and third party integrations, e.g. JotForm
Explore and implement new IT systems across TLG
Work to communicate and train IT processes to non-technical audiences
Manage IT challenges and concerns from multiple teams

Weekly team meeting – 1 hour
Independent work on delegated systems tasks – 3-4 hours
The workload is generally quite consistent as we interact with many different teams. Officers work in a pair and depending on assigned duties there may be some periods requiring greater availability than others. Expect a time commitment of up to 10 hours in a busy period.

The role of the Volunteer Experience Officer is to help create and maintain a positive, passionate and productive Executive culture. The role involves ensuring all volunteers are made to feel welcome, understand their roles, are appropriately skilled for the roles, and are communicating and collaborating effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage any conflict that may arise within the executive team
Organise social events throughout the semester
Organise professional development opportunities throughout the semester
Organise and facilitate an executive retreat at the start of semester
Organise and liaise with recruitment to run General Training.
Provide feedback, as required, to other members of the Executive team
