Role Description: Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator

Organisation:

Teach Learn Grow (TLG) addresses educational inequity by providing rural and remote primary school students with free, outcomes-targeted tutoring and mentoring run by volunteers. TLG runs a biannual Rural Program in which teams of university students are sent to rural schools across WA and NSW to provide one-on-one tutoring twice each year. To sustain the positive impact of the Rural Program, our online mentoring program (eMentor), provides students at these rural schools with continuous support throughout the school year. Our high school Immersion Program offers volunteering and personal development experiences for younger volunteers through our Immersion partner schools.

The Role:

The Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator works under the direction of the Development Director to maximise TLG’s brand recognition, community engagement, and sponsorship and fundraising income. The Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator also leads two teams of volunteers, the Marketing Team and the Community Engagement team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee marketing campaigns, fundraising initiatives and engaging community events

  • Build and maintain relationships with community and corporate partners

  • Manage and support volunteers

  • Support the Development Director to secure new funding opportunities (including grants and sponsorship)

  • Implement relevant policies and procedures and monitor for compliance 

The Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for leading several teams of dedicated young volunteers who meet weekly to plan and implement our initiatives:

  • the Marketing Team

  • the Community Engagement Team

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

We encourage all applicants who believe they have the skills to be successful in this role to apply as we can provide training to the right candidate. However, the following would be considered highly desirable:

  • Hold or be working towards a tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated work experience  

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, marketing or community engagement

  • Demonstrated experience in a busy and complex organisation 

  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading a team 

  • Demonstrated experience working or volunteering in a not-for-profit

Employment conditions:

  • The role is offered at 0.4 - 0.6 FTE with flexible working arrangements and the expectation of occasional evening and weekend work. 

  • Remuneration will equate to approximately, $70-75,000 pro-rata, depending on the successful applicant’s experience and qualifications. 

  • TLG staff are also offered salary sacrifice arrangements, generous annual leave entitlements and ongoing professional development opportunities.

  • This role will commence in mid-January 2024.
