About the role
As TLG continues to grow and embed consistent finance practices, we're looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join us on a contractor basis. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping activities of the organisation, working closely with the CEO.
Applicants must hold a current ABN.
Job Type: Contractor/Sole Trader (up to 4 hours per week)
Location: Work from home (BYO device) and 1 x monthly virtual meeting
Supervisor / Manager: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Direct Reports: N/A
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
Review pre-spending applications with the budget
Review post-spending applications and process reimbursements as required
Managing TLG program deposits
Manage fortnightly payroll
Monthly bank reconciliations
Expense reimbursement
Support grant tracking activities, including expense management and allocation
Support ATO filings
Provide ad-hoc support to the CEO for other tasks as required
Prepare and submit BAS, IAS and annual tax return
Draft monthly finance reports for revision by the CFO and CEO
Liaise with the auditor and external stakeholders
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Qualifications or ongoing study relevant to finance or accounting will be viewed positively.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years experience as a bookkeeper or finance officer responsible for day-to-day finance operations
Experience in the not-for-profit sector viewed positively.
Necessary Skills:
Experience with Xero Accounting Software
Experience with Stripe
Ability to work autonomously
High attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Adaptability in a small, fast-moving team
Desirable Skills:
Experience with grant funding
Experience with Google Workspace.
